Sri-Sri Radha-Damodara Pictures

Last week devotees offered pink and white lotuses to the Deities.

feet.jpg The pujaris became very excited. In fact someone told me it was a first for the Deities! The beautiful lotuses were very delicate. I'm afraid I only caught them after they soaked up a lot of heat from the altar lights. However you can see why Krishna's cooling glance is compared to the lotus. Here are a few slides.

Deities' Darshan: Wednesday April 30

Here is the Deities’ darshan late on Thursday Feb. 28th. morning. They look very striking in Their 'arati' theme cloth, beautifully embroidered with lamps and bells. Their Lordships received a number of devotees, including Hemagauri and Madhuri who were busy making garlands ready for tomorrow.

Kadamba Kananda Maharaja arrives today, before heading off to New Nandagram for the retreat tomorrow.

If you are interested in the GBC meetings, they are being summarised by ISKCON News at http://www.news.iskcon.com

You can also download the latest Srimad Bhagavatam class nectar from Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir at http://www.mayapur.com

Friday's Deity darshan

If you need an excuse to visit the National Gallery of Victoria then here's one...
Krishna is one of the most popular of the Hindu gods worshipped throughout Asia and in particular India. The exhibition Krishna: Love and Devotion will explore Krishna iconography, through approximately 70 works including paintings, sculpture, textiles, photography, and jewellery.

The scope of the exhibition includes both historical and contemporary interpretations of Krishna worship and devotion, and explores the narrative of Krisha's life story in works from across India.

Thanks to Anandini for the tip. Her employer is sponsoring the event.

Camera Action This Morning

I was inspired to take a few deity shots this morning. The set is a light mauve and orange colour so it lends itself well to photography. I hope you enjoy the darsana.

For some reason my gallery creation tool is not working properly. Please forgive the lack of captions. I've sent an SOS to our web servant but since he resides in the UK he's probably only just gotten up.

Camera fun this morning

I was particularly taken by the way Tanu-madhya dressed Gaura-nitai yesterday morning. Liam kindly took these shots for me at the Sunday Feast program last night so I could share them today.

Sunday Darsana

I grabbed a few shots of the Deities whilst testing a new memory card my brother gave me as a gift for doing his wedding on Saturday. A handy and appropriate gift. I have plans to take shots of the Janmastami set up tomorrow. There's a lot happening in the lead up to the festival and tomorrow is the last day to pull together the infrastructure. So far so good but we will really know how much more we have to do tomorrow.

Deity Shots Today (Yesterday Actually)

Nrsimhadeva in Milk:

Here’s the rest of the shots Vrndavana-lila took on Nrsimhadeva’s appearance day in Mayapur.

Jagannatha, Baladeva & Subhadra 7-6-2005:

Here’s today’s darsana. I lost a couple of pictures which had long file names so we are missing small and big Jagannatha in this set. I think I’ve got the lighting down. All these shots were taken using a tripod and timer so there is no obvious camera shake. I just have to iron out the file naming so we don’t lose the shots of Jagannatha. What you see above is what we should have got only much bigger.

Candana Yatra Mayapur 2005

I received some shots of the abhiseka of Lord Nrsimhadeva in Mayapur on Nrsimha Caturdasi yesterday. You can see them here. There are some pretty amazing shots.

I also put some pictures that I shot of our play on this page. They are not the best shots I have ever taken so please don’t mind the quality. They are basically so Krpa Sindhu’s mum can see the costumes she had made being put to good use. Thank’s Mataji.

Nrsimhadeva Caturdasi in Mayapur & Melbourne

I've added the salagrama-silas to today's shots. I think I've got the exposure settings almost right and I used the custom white balance I set for the Deity room. There's something missing from today's dressing. Can you spot it? Let me know if you can.
