Kitchen Marathon Part Three - A Day in Maylands

Yesterday's cooking expedition led me to the delightful home of Denise, the head of a Western Australian Health department, for a team-building day in the kitchen. Craig (pictured, front left) who had done a class with me before, had suggested this would be a pleasant way to spend the day.

the team assembles:

Indeed it was. Here's the ebullient ladies responsible for preparing our Rujak Manis.

say RUJAK MANIS!:

The attractive garden setting made for a very appealing finale to the day. This is what we cooked:

Orange, Currant and Pecan-studded Canadian Wild Rice & Basmati Pilaf
Malaysian Vegetable-stuffed Flaky Curry Puffs
Succulent & Spicy Eggplant Pickles
Seared Chili Panir Steaks with Sweet Potato Mash & Rocket Salad
Lemon-infused Dubai-style Salad of Fresh Dates, Toasted Turkish Bread, Hazelnuts, Bitter Greens, Fresh Herbs & Feta
Indonesian Fruit Skewers with Hot, Sour and Sweet Peanut, Lime & Tamarind Dipping Sauce (Rujak Manis)

Team Maylands:

A big thanks to Denise (pictured front, right).
