"Dear Kurma, I have been a regular visitor to this website. It has beautiful pictures, interesting diary, and excellent recipes. I even have a copy of your book Great Vegetarian Dishes. I love your recipes !!
Can you please give me a recipe for Mohanthal? Its a very delicious sweet made
out of chickpea flour. I have tried various recipes but it never tastes good."

My reply:
"Thanks so much for your kind and encouraging words. I have tasted some very nice Mohanthal over the years, but I still don't have a reliable recipe at my fingertips. For those of you that don't know, Mohanthal is a type of firm, slightly-crumbly laddhu-like fudge made by adding hot sugar syrup to a roasted combination of chickpea flour (besan) and ghee.
The ingredients are simple, but the success is all in the strict temperature control, sugar syrup skill, and timing. I will blog your request and ask:
Is there anyone reading this entry who has a tried-and-true Mohanthal recipe?
