Oats and Coeliac Disease

I've been asked on two occasions recently about whether oats are gluten-free.

It seems that Coeliac Disease, like many other diet-related illnesses, are becoming more and more prevalent. The reason for this is the subject for another post.

Coeliac Disease is an auto-immune disorder of the small bowel caused by a reaction to gliadin, a gluten protein found in wheat.

But back to the question at hand: Can Coeliacs eat oats? My answer would be yes, and no. Read more...
