In Search of the Big Five

The Kruger National Park in South Africa is one of the continent's oldest and largest reserves. The park boasts a tremendous variety of game and birdlife in its numerous habitats.

I'm heading there early Monday morning - a four-and-a-half hour drive from Jo'burg just to the closest entrance at Southern Kruger - for a respite from all my cooking. It'll be nice to just hit the road and feel the wind through my hair (or where it used to be).

'Who are the Big Five?', you ask. They're Africa's most important fauna - the Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo.

Let's see who crosses our path...
