When I tell my students that the photos I sometimes take during my class may be published on my blog, there's always a number who have still never heard of the term, and inevitably ask me, "what's a blog?"
I explain that the term blog is short for weblog. It's a personal online journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs are defined by their format: a series of entries posted to a single page in reverse-chronological order. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or reflect the purpose of the Web site that hosts the blog. I would like to think that my author's 'voice' is there in my postings.
Topics on my blog sometimes include brief philosophical musings, letters I receive from my readers, commentary on Internet and other social issues, and links to other sites that I favour, especially those that support a point being made on my post.
So, it's one year ago that I started blogging! The time has gone fast. There's over 1300 postings in my archives. If you'd like to look up a specific topic, type in a key word in the search box at the top right hand side of the page and see what you find. Or just randomly go wandering by clicking on months and dates in my archive calendar.
