Today I helped cook for Perth's Big Day Out rock concert. The Hare Krishna Food booth will be serving my Potato, Cauliflower, Squash and Chickpea Curry, Thai Jasmine Rice, Date Orange and Coconut Halava, amongst other things, until the wee hours tonight.
Talking of wee hours, I rose at 1.00am and commenced cooking at Govinda's restaurant in Northbridge. The rest of the cooking will take place on site.
I wanted to photograph some of the cooking this morning, but my camera is playing up. It continuously registers that its battery power is insufficient despite pumping it full of new batteries. It is suffering from some sort of inferiority complex, or something more technical. Any ideas?
Big Days Out are a great place to sell Hare Krishna Food. Gold Coast, Melbourne and Adelaide Big Days were a grand success. In fact practically everywhere you go, just the mention of 'Hare Krishna' induces salivation. Such is the influence after decades and millions of plates of the delightful spiritually surcharged wonder food. Here's a few images of interstate set-ups.
Anyway, I will not be there today, pressed in the claustraphobic sweaty crush under Perth's blistering sun, since my mission is complete. I will enjoy my Big Day In.
