Masters of Fare

As you may know, The National Portrait Gallery of Australia recently featured me in its exhibition “Masters of Fare”, celebrating the work and careers of the Australian food industry’s pioneers, entrepreneurs and innovators.

masters of fare:

The exhibition honoured the lives of those who have become household names amongst Australian chefs and cookery writers, “championing the unique culinary characteristics and produce of Australia, enriching our lives with new ideas and new flavours." The exhibition honoured my "contribution to culinary expertise in vegetarianism”.

“Masters of Fare” was on display at Old Parliament House in the National Capital Canberra and attracted over 45,000 visitors. visit the exhibition...

Doyen des Chefs Végétariens

cooking with kurma:

Seems my cookbooks are still out there in the bookshops, and doing well. Stumbled upon this today:

Kurma's cookbook Number Three in the ABC Bookshop's Top Ten...read more...

Apparently I've become the 'doyen of vegetarian chefs' (doyen = a man who is the senior member of a group). Sort of the French version of 'Australia's Vegetarian Guru', I guess.

Makes me feel all warm and tingly.

Feeling the Heat?

Are you feverish at the thought that you may have missed the previous two months of diary entries for this blog?

Feeling the Heat: There's only enough space for 10 days entries at a time on this side of the page. To read 'back issues', go to the calendar on the top right (or bottom) of this page and click on July dates.

And then, to travel even further back in time, click on 'June', scroll down, and click on any date after June 2.

That should bring the temperature down.

Pressing Life's Pause Button

Some days life is like watching a movie, except we star in it. We can't rewind it or turn it off half way. Do you ever feel like that?

Life on Hold:

Today it feels like I have pressed life's pause button and gone to the kitchen to rustle something up. Guess I shouldn't really publish this on my blog. That's for my happy 'Entertainment Tonite - Kurma meets the Press' face...

...or should I...?

Publish, be damned!
