Back To My Roots

Off to London! It was there, 52 long years ago that I reluctantly appeared, breech-birth, bottom-first, blue, mid-forceps (that must have hurt!) in chilly Wanstead Hospital.

Baby Kurma:

I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my dear mother, who's birthday falls today. Sarah Esther (Essie) sits in a Sydney nursing home, blind and in the advanced stages of Parkinson's disease, surrounded by loving friends, relatives, and tended to by my dear father who continues to look after her with deep affection. Happy birthday dear Mum! This photo is for you, although you can't see it.

Thank you.

Here we go again...:

I depart Perth today on Cathay Pacific flight CX 170 and arrive in Hong Kong 8.15 tonight (there is no time difference).

After a brief stop, I set off for London. I should be arriving at Heathrow as the summer sun starts to peep over the horizon.

Back To My Roots

A Morning Meditation

It's 4.30am in my chilly office. The Western Australian winter rain thunders down on the roof, and I dream of a summer in Europe, soon to become a reality. Believe it or not, yesterday's Perth maximum temperature was London's minimum.

But honestly, I don't base my life around my skin temperature. After all, I am not this body, but someone living deep inside my skin, looking out at the world through two eyes from this amazing body-machine produced with impeccable skill by the Supreme Designer.

And besides, whatever temperature it is outside, it's always warm in the kitchen!
