 Tuesday, July 1, 2008News has broken on the Tamal Krishna Maharaja disciples' conference and Dandavats.com that Mother Nrsimha devi has returned back to Home. Nrsimha devi was a staunch disciple of Srila Prabhupada, the brahman disciple of Tamal Krishna Goswami Maharaja, and so my senior godsister. On Dandavats, His Grace Dina Bandhu Prabhu writes: 'We performed the last rites on the bank of Yamuna a little late in the
morning as we had to wait for her brother and other relatives to
arrive. It was a nice cloudy day as the monsoon has arrived so early
for the first time in 108 years. It even threatened to rain, but I
think the Vrinda Devi was purifying everything for Nrsimha’s last
rites. As soon as her brother lit the pyre, four small white cows came
grazing by. The locals say this is a sure sign the person has returned
to Goloka Dhama!' His Grace Radhacaran Prabhu writes to the TKG disciples conference: 'Aside from my random visits to Vrindavan each year - where I was always
looking forward to step into Prabhupada's house and see her standing there
behind her book table greeting everyone with a smile - I had other
dealings with Nrsimha devi in 1994/95. I was then Srila Gurudeva's servant and secretary. Once we had settled for the Kartika season, Nrsimha devi became involved in many ways. She volunteered to supply and finance all the bhoga Gopalraj needed for breakfast and lunch all throughout Srila Gurudeva's stay and I beleive she did the same with each of his Vrindavan visits. She was always the first to arrange for disciples' stay when they came from overseas and always made sure they were comfortable. She looked after anything related to Srila Gurudeva in Vrindavan and never hesitated to come up to the house to discuss anything with him. She attended all his classes, his darsans and parikramas. She often told me that Srila Prabhupada wanted Srila Gurudeva to look after her and inspire her in devotional service. I last saw Nrsimha devi, as always, at Prabhupada's house last December. She looked very happy and peaceful. She was such an inspiration to me and a jewel among the ISKCON Vrindavan devotees.' For myself, Her Grace entered my life at Govardhan as we prepared the tirobhav ceremony for our spiritual master. Mother Nrsimha devi was never afraid to make hard service decisions and to accept their consequences. She directed me how to work with my godsisters and brothers to prepare the tirobhava feast bhoga for Tamal Krishna Maharaja. Nrsimha devi remained a tangible link with my spiritual master and his undaunted mood of service to Srila Prabhupada. Prabhavi always remembered me as I returned to Vrndavan each subsequent year, and blessed me by encouraging any small service to Srila Prabhupada and Tamal Krishna Maharaja. I am sure all my godbrothers and sisters experienced similar benedictions. I pray that every devotee who reads of her dedicaton and devotion to serving the spiritual master will receive her blessings, and therefore those of Srila Tamal Krishna Maharaja and Srila Prabhupada. One should meditate upon the desire trees of Vrndavana, whose flowers are like beautiful pearls, whose leaves are like jewels, and whose fruits are like precious stones.
