Preaching Presentations

This year there will be three preaching presentations. For each presentation you will need to do a 500 word essay and 30 minute oral presentation to your group.

The final (3rd) Presentation is due on 1st of October. Please choose one of these 5 topics and prepare a talk and essay. Essays later than this time will NOT be marked.

Semester III (Due 1st October 08)

ASSESSMENT

Presentations will be assessed according to the following objectives:

During their presentation students should be able to:

  1. Select references, examples and analogies, appropriate to the topic, from the specified section and the bhakti-sastras. (Bhagavad-gita, Nectar of Devotion, Sri Isopanisad.)
  1. Present points suitable to the audience, making the topic accessible and pre-empting the audience’s doubts
  1. Present sound logical arguments.
  1. Remain faithful to sastric conclusions.
  1. Present points within 20 to 25 minutes, leaving 5 to 10 minutes for questions and answers.

Select a topic from the above and take time to discuss your presentation with your facilitator.
