You could paint your way into Lord Jagannatha’s heart! The Lord’s Chida-dadhi Mahotsav (Chipped Rice Festival) is coming up in around ten weeks’ time, on the day of His Snana Yatra (December 26th.)

Parvarti_1 Jayapataka Maharaja always makes a special point of inspiring the devotees’ preparation of the sweet and savoury bhoga. The offerings are based on chipped rice, yoghurt or condensed milk, which is mixed with either seasonal fruits or spicy salads.

This year Anandini and Veda Priya are asking for 30-40 hand-painted clay pots in which to offer The Lords’ maha-bhoga. The vaisnavas are busy pledging the numbers of pots they will paint for Lord Jagannatha’s pleasure.

You can help! If you have the least artistic ability, you can paint your way into Lord Jagannatha’s heart. Either pledge to paint a pot, panihati-auction or help another devotee by painting the borders or backgrounds.

Please contact Anandini, or Veda Priya (0405-577-453) as soon as you can.
