Most members of the temple community are chanting and dancing as mangalarati is
offered at 4:30am. However, each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning, a
few lone devotees drive across the city to buy fresh flowers at the
Footscray market. By 7:00am. they deliver them to be strung into garlands
and offered to the Deities. Here is part of today's team making garlands
for the Lords' pleasure (from left): Rajkumari, Abba, Hemagauri, Yogamaya
and Govinda Kund.
As the vaisnavis sew flowers in the darshan hall, Sthana Dhatri rides from the ladies ashram precinct (outside the west wall of the temple) to the Deities' kitchen. Triyuga and his team (including Adam, Tim and Uddhava) have begun to renovate the ashram at 64 Little Page Street. They hope to complete the work within three weeks so three more vaisnavis who either study or work during the week can move in and serve at the temple.
