Wednesday, June 11, 2008In Melbourne Mahaprabhu Mandir, the rooms where the Deities' clothes and paraphernalia (arati trays etc.) are prepared for Their worship are considered as good as the altar room itself. The devotees who are fortunate enough to render service there experience how Radha-Vallabaha attract their hearts, draw them closer to Their service, and finally reciprocate with Their servants' surrender. Nevertheless, Their sevaites have also experienced the austerity of working in an old and worn out facility.
Last week a crew of vaisnavas - assisted by generous devotee tradesmen - refurbished the 'wetside' parapernalia room. Waterproof flooring has replaced old wooden boards; stainless steel cupboards and benches have replaced battered timber cupboards. The new facility is well lit, easily cleaned, and well on the way to completion.
Sri-Sri Radha-Vallabha sevanam ki jaya!

On behalf of ISKCON Fiji, we invite everyone to please attend the Festival of Fiji 2008. This is the first time ever we are having such a huge 2 week Hare Krishna festival in August from 16th till 30th. Highlights of the festival are daily Harinama in every major town and city, Ratha Yatra, celebrating Janmastami, installation of life size Srila Prabhupada deities, drama performance, picnic, evening programs and camping. The festival will commerce in Lautoka, Sri Krishna Kaliya temple and then continues with 5 days bus tour around the main island visiting temples/ centres in Nadi, upcoming Sri Sri Radha Damodar temple Sigatoka, Sri Sri Radha Golokabihari temple Suva, Sri Sri Pancatattva temple Rakiraki, Tavua, and Ba. We have special visiting guests, namely, HH Vedavyasapriya Swami, HH Janananda Goswami, HH Bhakti Dhira Damodara Swami, HH Ramai Swami (TBC), HH Devamrita Maharaja (TBC).
