This weekend the Melbourne Yatra enjoyed three major celebrations: Tamal
Krishna Goswami’s Disappearance Day, the Moomba Parade maha-harinama, and
Bhurijana Prabhu’s Vyasa Puja. On Saturday the disciples and well-wishers of Tamal Krishna Maharaja offered glorification, feast bhoga, puja and pushpanjali to His Divine Grace. Radha Caran Prabhu reported on the progress his upcoming photo-biography of Tamal Krishna Goswami. Maharaja’s Melbourne disciples are soon to resume regular meetings. Monday morning saw forty devotees contribute the transcendental flavour of maha-harinama to the annual Moomba procession. Veteran parade organiser Bhakta Prabhu led the sankirtana, spurred on by Uddhava (djembe drum), Glenn (mrdanga), and Adam (accordion) - plus other enthusiastic musicians, acrobatic and rhythmic dancers. Observers commented that the Hare Krishnas brought extra depth to Moomba's appreciation of life. On Monday afternoon, the disciples and well-wishers of His Divine Grace Bhurijana Prabhu offered him very sweet bhajans, glorifications, feast bhoga, puja and pushpanjali. We were joined by Mother Jagattarini’s mother Nan, and her daughter Lalita Manjari devi dasi. Next weekend everyone is invited to another maha-harinam in Werribee. Contact the temple for details.
