For those of you booked into this year's retreat with Bhurijana Prabhu and Jagattarini, here are some details of the classes. The retreat starts at 6pm with prasadam and the first program is at 7.00pm. On your arrival at New Nandagram please see Kesava for your room and service allocations.

The first class starts at 7 pm on Friday 21st April. Our last session will be on Monday. We break camp at 2 pm Monday 24th April.

  • Bhurijana Prabhu ~ Knowledge, Surrender, and Devotion:
A Study of Three Powerful Sections of the Bhagavad-gita

  • Jagattarini Mataji ~ Saintly Sons- Dhruva and Prahlada

Jagattarini has requested all those attending her seminar to please bring a copy of the 4th and 7th Canto, containing the stories about Dhruva Maharaja and Prahlada Maharaja.

You might also be aware that the forecast is for cooler weather. It can get quite cold at the farm so bring your warmer clothing. My advice is to bring a good blanket with your sleeping bag.

Manigriva sent a few shots of progress at the farm last week. There are quite a variety. The new roof on the old farm house is impressive. Jason and Manigriva have really cleaned up around the brahmacari asrama. You can see the before and after shots. It looks like there will be plenty of fire-wood. Jason has also welded a new wet-back onto the pot belly stove so the brahmacari hot water supply should be steaming and plentiful.

Sarva-mangala tells me there are some new items in stock:

  • DVD sets of the famous Ramananda Sagar productions of "Ramayana", and "Sri Krishna" (Hindi with English Subtitles)
  • Krishna Cinema sets
  • Complete Prabhupada DVD Library sets

We also have on special three sets of Bhaktivinoda Vani Vaibhav (vols 1 and 2) - for the very very special price of $40.00. There are also a few copies of Spiritual Warrior III at the sale price of $17.00. These are practically walking out the door by themselves. Grab them while you can.

bahu-sastre bahu-vakye citte bhrama haya
sadhya-sadhana srestha na haya niscaya

"If one becomes a bookworm, reading many books and scriptures and hearing many commentaries and the instructions of many men, this will produce doubt within the heart. One cannot in this way ascertain the real goal of life." (CC, Adi-lila, 16.11)

Simply by studying, becoming bookworm, you cannot advance. The real secret is... That is stated in the Vedas. Unflinching faith in God and spiritual master. Then things will be revealed from within. How much strength we have got to study all these books? But Vedas says, yasya deve para bhaktir yatha deve tatha gurau. If one has got unflinching faith in God and similar faith in the spiritual master, tasyaite kathita hy arthah prakasante mahatmanah, to him only the Vedic knowledge becomes revealed.
