This story is relevant to the section of the Bhagavatam we are reading at the moment.

A day ahead of World Water Day (WWD), the United Nations (UN) has warned trouble caused by the world's dwindling supply of fresh water goes far beyond perpetual thirst for billions around the globe. The study has outlined a litany of problems extending to severe pollution, species loss and even food insecurity. "Freshwater shortages are likely to trigger increased environmental damage over the next 15 years," the UN Environmental Program's Global International Waters Assessment (GIWA) report says, based on the input of 1,500 experts worldwide.

From the purport of today’s class... SB 10.24.8

Without clean rainwater, the earth could not possibly provide food or drink for anyone, nor could there be cleanliness. Thus it would be difficult to overestimate the value of rain.

This was predictable.

A Moscow court has rejected an appeal by the 'Hare Krishna' movement for allowing it to construct a temple on 1.05 hectares of land in a prime locality in the Russian capital.

Here’s a great way to pull in the crowds...

Fire and color mixed together in a hazy aura of spastic bodies and chanting. Students and families -- young and old -- threw handfuls of vibrant powder at each other in a frenzied celebration of spring, circling a 10-foot bonfire topped with the glowing effigy of a demoness. Soon, raindrops littered the scene, turning powder marks into pinpoints of paint.

Ram Kumar, our restaurant manager while Peter is on pilgrimage, is looking for assistants to help out with the evening crowds at Gopal's. If you think you have what it takes please give me a call or you can contact him at the restaurant. We are getting large attendances at the moment as a result of the Commonwealth Games so we need a couple more hands on deck.
