Sarva-mangala tells me we've got some beautiful hand-crafted japa-mala from Bali. They aren't going to last long. We've also got some Jagannatha wind chimes from Bali and children's hooded windcheaters.

Yesterday was the anniversary of Tamal Krsna Goswami's disappearance.

TKG Disappearance Day Poster 2006
TKG Disappearance Day Poster 2006

The devotees in Melbourne are celebrating this on Saturday. The program begins at noon. Thanks to Rasanandini for sending me the poster.

We left Mayapur after taking darsana of the Panca-tattva and Radha-madhava. We arrived in Vrndavana at 5.00 pm. Almost twelve hours of travel knocks you about, especially in India.

I was meeting in Goswami Maharaja's rooms every day so I often found myself meditating on his presence while in Mayapur. I am now getting some of the rest I should have had three weeks ago. We are looking forward to returning to Melbourne. The weather in Mayapur is starting to get really hot. The temperature was getting up to thirty degrees centigrade in the heat of the day. That doesn't sound like much but when you consider the humidity it felt really hot and sticky. It is going to be a hot festival.

Vrndavana is warming up but not as much. It is still cool in the morning. It reminds me of Melbourne. It was great to see Krsna-balarama this morning and attend a compact morning program in which I could chant most of my rounds. Both Mangala-arati and greeting the Deities take an hour each in Mayapur which cuts into time for japa. I prefer to chant my japa for which you get ample time in Vrndavana. The mood is very sweet. Mayapur for me is wall to wall meetings for over a fortnight so it is great to get back to a more relaxed program.
